Hey, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this author?

Ive known about him for quite some time, and his contribution to Sci-Fi writing, But i never bought a book by him. Until recently.

My Physics teacher recommended me some books, and i went out and bought the novel version of "Nightfall" he did with a fellow author of his, Robert Silverberg. And wow!!!

This guy can write. I read the original Nightfall which was a short story in 1941, and voted one of the best ever in sci fi writing, and the Novel just blew me away!!

Its about a planet called Kalgash, that is in perpetual daylight thanks to its Six Suns, Its people have never had night. And for the first time in there 2,000 year history, Night is gonna fall for there first time. quoting the back of the book...."Be there to find out what happens after nightfall, and more importantly, what happens at daybreak"

Its such a good book. and ive started to read his most famous work, "The Foundation" series. Which so far is awesome!!

PS

He is the guy who also wrote "I, Robot". While the movie was not bad, the book is so much more better and different!

PPS

As far as i know he has written more books than anyone, an astonishing 500+ books published, from every topic, he has a book in ever spot of the dewey decimal system, except Philosophy.

Isaac Asimov is one of my favourite authors. I love both Nightfall, the Foundation series, his robot books, Nemesis and some more. The later foundation books are not as good as the first ones, but still good. Also, make sure that you stay away of the books labeled Isaac Asimov but written by other authors after his death (something like "Isaac Asimov" in big letters, followed by "presents some-other-guy" in small print... mad.gif )
