Restoring my old RG ... =)

Does anyone know if i can order a new OFR Mounting Thingy for the actual (screw in) Trem Arm?

I know they can be replaced, and i don't wanna buy the whole plate, if i can even do that. If someone knows a part number, please let me know where i can order this!

Or if anyone has an old OFR that can sell me this little peice.

OFR = Original Floyd Rose, for any confusion that may take place

Yes, it's replaceable. In fact, I've replaced this part along with the bar itself on some licensed floyd rose copies and it made all the difference in the world. Many copies of the floyd rose are pretty good, except the bar itself is loose, rough, or just feels sloppy. Changing this part ends those problems completely -I highly recommend this if you have problems with the bar on a floyd copy.

In the past, a new floyd rose arm would come with the threaded 'barrel', the hex screw that goes on the back, and the bar itself as a set. I'm not sure it's still sold this way, but maybe you could call or email floyd rose to find out.

Btw, my floyd rose book says to use vaseline to lube this part with, but it will wear out too fast if you use that. Gun oil or lithium soap base grease will make it last longer and feel waaayyy better! I use gun oil, because it's cheaper and less of a mess and you can also use it to clean your trem just by letting it soak in it.

Stewart MacDonald

guitarpartsdepot.com

-that's just two, I'm sure there's more places where you can get it like ebay.

You can't buy just the barrel piece by itself -it only comes as a set when you buy a replacement arm or bar, but the price isn't too bad.
