So, what is your opinion on the current trend of underground metal, which is classic Thrash Revival ala 84-86 Thrash. Lots of band are coming out and there all young and full of talent and alcohol. Its really nice seeing young metalheads playing thrash. Among my favorites are Violator, Lich King, Fueled By Fire, Warbringer, Municipal Waste, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, FastKill (fast!!!!) and a bunch more and more!

So any fans of such genre? I think that the people who are Tallica fans or Megadeth should really look at these bands because these guys are bringing back thrash in the days of fast, unrelenting speed with some of the best riffings I have ever heard. I actually think I like the Thrash Revival more than the classic Thrash era bands.

Im warms my metal heart to see this. I never really thought it died, considering there were still bands from the 80s thrash still kickin' and goin strong. But when these bands started showing up it was just like....amazing, damn I saw Warbringer live and it was the closest thing I think I'll get to a true thrash show back in the 80's.

Also, don't forget EVILE, those guys are top notch.

I'm so happy there is a Thrash revival because in my opinion, Thrash is the purest form of metal. It's just raw aggression with killer riffs, blazing solos... everytime I hear a good thrash song I just wanna scream! (thats a good thing)

I think that it's only natural that it's coming back. Obviously we all know that thrash was really big in the 80's but metal moved on since then. Other bands started to appear with different sounds, some of them great, some of them horrible.
To me it feels like the soul of metal is lost with the current really popular metal bands. Metalcore has somehow taken control of the metal genre and a lot of metalheads don't like it.

A few months ago I saw In Flames open for Megadeth and it was clear that most people were there for In Flames. The mosh pit was so huge for In Flames and the people went crazy. After a couple of songs a lot of people left the moshing area and just stood back. I talked to a few of them and they each told me they tried but just couldn't get into the music, I was one of them.

After In Flames, to my disbelief a good portion of people left. When Megadeth came on there was much less people. It blew my mind.

People like me wanted something faster, dirtier and more aggressive. We wanted THRASH.

I think that there will be two golden ages of thrash. The 80's and NOW. Although my band isn't anywhere near as good as band like Evile and Warbringer, I'm gonna be proud to say I was part of the thrash revival.

It's also nice to be able to name bands from this millennium when people ask what I like tongue.gif

Haha, I also want to start a thrash band. Sadly, thrash in Michigan is dead like the metal scene.

We do have Sauron though, which get a fair recognition from Black/Thrash fans ala Sarcofago and Nocturnal Breed.

Bit before, such as Aura Noir, but not really after I've gotten serious about the guitar.

Is that song serious? I don't mean the lyrics, they're obviously not, but to the band sound like that? I know I find thrash boring in general but this is insane how anybody can out out something like this. The video someone linkes somewhere yesterday of the 1 chord song by some Jonas-guy is seriously 500 times more innovative than this.

Truthfully, I think Black metal is really lame... It reminds me of the 80s with all the make up, leather and crap. Just super lame.
