Hey Marcus, ive always wanted to ask this.

But i've noticed that on your album "Live", and your Live DVD, and when i saw you guys live, the crowd tends to sing the chorus valhalla for quite some time, The show i was at did it for a good 5 minutes laugh.gif

Whats the longest anyone has ever done it a show, Do you guys leave time in the show for it? laugh.gif

I guess Valhalla was "abused" the most at the Blind Guardian Open air (the one where we recorded the DVD), the crowd kept singing the chorus for several minutes after the song ended, and they restarted it after a couple of other songs as well. But the most impressive thing actually happened after The Bard Song at a show that we played in Düsseldorf on the Night at the Opera tour. The crowd kept cheering so loud that we could not continue the show for about 15 (!!!) minutes, whenever Hansi tried to anounce the next song the audence went even more nuts... I still get goosebumps when I think of that night, pure magic. But no, we don't count on such things to happen, we plan our setlists independent of such things tongue.gif

Hello Marcus! Welcome to GMC! I'm very glad that you are doing lessons here. I still remember when I listened "Imaginations... for the first time in my walkman and it blow my mind. It would be awesome if you do lessons telling how do you work at the studio and also how you work your guitar arrangements and duets.
I saw Blind Guardian in Argentina during the "Nightfall in the midle-earth" tour and I was surprised of the presicion of the whole band.

It's a pleassure to have you here. smile.gif

gabriel.-

Hey Gabriel, that Show was pure magic, the whole South American trip that we did back then was incredible. We were really sorry that we had to cancel the show in Buenos Aires last year because of that damn problem at the airport but we will come back for sure. About future lesson topics, I am just preparing my second one and I already talked to Kristofer about BG-lessons, we will see what is possible, would be fun for me for sure.

You wont beleive how im blown away by the fact that Marcus has joined GMC (im sure you guys are too). I dont know if its coincidence either because about 2 weeks ago i took this online quiz on "which type of metal are you?". End result- It said i should listen to the power metal band Blind Guardian. I had already heard Mirror Mirror, but after that, Ive been listening to even more of guardians song.

Im just wondering, what other bands influenced you guys? You seem to have very distinct music. Also could you teach us how you do those awesome speed metal riffs?

I guess youre never too old to skateboard.

Imagine how Pavel reacts when he finds out Marcus joined GMC!

That sounds great Marcus! smile.gif If I'm not wrong you ere planing to play in Obras (Pepsi Music) that is a bigger place than the first time. I know that you'll have great time if you play in Obras in front of more than 5000 argentinians shouting the choruses...

Also, I have a question for Marcus.

Me and a friend were watching the Blind Guardian DVD a while back and we noticed you were playing this one gutiar and we argued about it for a while, do you have a Les Paul with a Floyd Rose trem? I mean I'm no gear guru but, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a Les Paul with a floating trem. The guitar I'm talking about is the one on Another Holy War.

Hope it's not a bother to answer all the questions from the Guardian fanboys tongue.gif
Next we gotta get Andre Olbrich on here laugh.gif

Hmm, I have to admit I don't exactly remember who had the idea to cover Mr Sandman, I think it was Hansi, but we all like to mess around with such songs, as we did with Barbara Ann or Sufin USA. And about that guitar on our DVD, this is a cusom built ESP, obviously based on a Les Paul, but with a Floyd Rose, it is from my times as an ESP endorser. It is a good guitar and I still have it, but I am not really using it anymore, I prefer my Gibsons.
