Hi guys! Yesterday the band Crosses by Chino Moreno played here and the guys on the radio started talking about the influence of electronic music in Rock. They said that as in Rock everything has been invented, the addition of electronic influences is like the future in rock.

What do you think of this affirmation?

I also found this article about The influence of Electronic Music in Rock Music

Yeah, I think electronic music and rock have been married very well over the years.

I wouldn't say it's just the future though.. I think everything is the future, not just one type of direction smile.gif

If you think about it, any type of rock is electronic... amps, electric guitars etc.. wink.gif

Interesting subject!
That was an interesting article too Gabe!
To take just one example from that article...
Deep Purple. The epitome of using electronic sound generation in a Rock context, albeit in the shape of a B3 Hammond rather than Electronic Synthesis.
The point is that since the different instruments were invented they have been used together in one form or another and that has continued through to todays music, using anything from Keyboards throught to DJ Decks or even Theramin!!!

Very interesting indeed!
Allan Holdsworth uses a lot of electronics. His synth-axe playing is amazing.
It's probably a coincidence, but in my new lesson I've tried to combine electro and rock/metal styles... smile.gif

That's true... I also think that it's not the only direction for rock evolution.
