The firearm in question was banned for 10 years (1994-2004). Fortunately that law had a sunset clause and further attempts to reinstate it have failed due to the overwhelming opposition to it by Americans. There are other firearms that are banned from import to the US however.

I personally am against any type of weapons ban. I know this may sound extreme. However, I really do think that if a law abiding, tax paying citizen wants to buy a fully auto 50 cal weapon, and become certified in it's use, he should be able to do so I also think that, JUST LIKE BRITAIN, we should allow people to buy TANKS and drive them on the street if they so wish.
Responsible gun/weapon/tank ownership, isn't the problem IMHO. I've known gun collectors who own hundreds of weapons and have never fired at a person, just game and targets. It's not really the "good guys" that we have to worry about it seems. Still, some folks here feel very strongly that relieving people of their right to keep and bear arms would be a positive thing. They have every right to think and vote that way. I"m just not one of em [ The firearm in question was banned for 10 years (1994-2004).
