I suggest a Zoom H2, it's fairly cheap, we use it to record our bandpractice and it records everything very well. I posted a sound example somewhere on this site. If you want to move up a notch there's the new Zoom H4n which has two XLR inputs so you could record into (I think) four channels. The two mikes + the two internal ones... though I'm uncertain if they will record to separate tracks or onto a common one. -------------------- My bands homepage

Depends of how good recording you wanna get.
You can pretty much record with your iPhone, iPod Touch or similar if you have one already. And Zoom recorders are nice too, there are many more. -------------------- Youtube

I have been looking at the Zoom alternatives and they look quite good..
I just want something with mics that can record what we play.. i tried using my phone but last time i couldn't find the recording on the phone afterwards.. lol.. was also looking at this Swissonic |

The problem with a phone is that it will probably not get the low frequencies in and I guess you're restricted to play on low volume so it doesn't break up.
Never had a problem with the Zoom H2. Can't say I've heard of the Swissonic but might be a cheaper competitable tool. I have no idea. -------------------- My bands homepage

Swissonic were a US company that made/sold audio equipment back at the start of the 2000s. Some of the stuff they sold under their name was re-branded under licenses from the OEM, some they made themselves. I believe they went bankrupt about 2004 and that Thomann then bought the rights to the name and their remaining stock. That stock was sold and so Thomann presumably now have sourced a factory to make stuff which they then brand as Swissonic (happens quite a bit) presumably as a compliment to their other 'Thon' in house brand. If you go to the Swissonic web site it redirects you to Thomann.
