Good thought man! It's important to know about harmonizing scales and modes so that you may have the proper tools at hand when you want to build modal progressions

Yeah it was a big help for me because I knew about the Root, 3rd, 5th, but never really understood how important the other extensions of the chords (6th,7th, etc.) were for bringing out the modal sound!
