My HAMER CALIFORNIAN showed up in the post and after playing it for a few hours I say it's a really solid guitar with perfect intonation. The 27 fret thing is just amazing and I think I"m going to have to add that to my list of things I look for on an instrument. It really reduces the number of contenders on a given list that's for sure.

1.)Double Locking Trem
2.)Alnico Based Pickup (Personal preference really)
3.)Deep Cutaway
4.)Neck similar to a Ibby WIZARD
5.)27 Frets
6)ERD If possible

That pretty much covers what I"m looking to add next.

**I"M SELLING THE CALIFORNIAN

It's a fine Axe. And it's in great shape. But to be honest I"m not in love with the neck. It's not terrible, just not what I was expecting. Next axe coming in is an Ibanez XIPHOS. Neck through body, Wizard Neck. High hopes smile.gif

Here is a quick pick of the HAMER and my IBBY RG560 side by side. Just from looking at the thickness of the neck, guess which is the Ibby smile.gif

Most of them are "Break Even" deals. I date most of my guitars, I don't marry them. I married my RG 560 long ago and only cheat on it temporarily with other guitars.

I try not to buy any guitar new. That's a big part of it. New guitars are like new cars, drive them off the lot and they are worth HALF!

Good question but I don't think it would be cheap. Shipping to europe is a back breaker. But if you want to buy the guitar I can try to find out. $200 plus shipping? The shipping could be another $100 so $300 or so. Do you have paypal?

ONE QUICK CAVEAT:

I noticed that up around the 23rd fret ( I think that's where it was) the notes are the same when fretting 22/23 so I think at least one of the frets is worn down. But the trem and the rest of it look like it just came off the showroom floor. The guitar literally looks brand new. I don't think it's ever been set up oddly so it needs a setup.

OUCH! NEVERMIND! I JUST LOOKED UP SHIPPING TO BELGIUM!

$425. GOOD LORD!

I think there are cheaper ways to ship it. There are some companies that combine many packages from different customers and put them in a container. This should be much cheaper than that price you posted. I don't know the names of any companies that do this though sad.gif

Andertons in the UK used to ship some guitars to the US for around $150. I think they might've just used the postal service.

I just did a quick search on UPS and they'll do it for $303.00. But thats just a quick search. You would have to go to a UPS Store to get an accurate estimate.
