Hey, what's going on everybody? Life gets in the way, when you make plans. In short. I was given a fortunate oppourtunity to study & learn here, at GMC. I need to learn everything! I am interested in all types of guitar playing to contribute to a progressive/djent/technical genre. I have a grasp of the fretboard & am hungry to destroy what I was! I become vivid when I become confident, so I apologize before hand for any enthusiasm that gets away from me. I may at times ask questions that are further down the line then my current level of play, so be on your toes. Lol.

I grew up loving Kirk Hammett & Jake E. Lee( single greatest under-appreciated guitarist off all-time). Past few years been diggin' Acle Kahney.

My aim is to learn. My goal is to be the best. My hope is to give back.

Nice to meet everyone!

Nice to meet you Hokenstyfe.. interesting name, does it have Germanic connotations ? smile.gif

Yeah, I loved Jake E Lee's playing.. I used to watch the Ozzy concert at Salt Lake City on video (remember those ?) and try and figure out what the hell he was doing wink.gif

Thanks Ben! Directly Hokenstyfe has no Germanic connotations! I do get that asked a lot though. Indirectly, there is a malicious parallel to a germanic era's attitude. I will not bore you with the details.

Yeah, to this day I'm still amazed by what he was doing! Bark At The Moon & The Ultimate Sin are my favorite albums of all time. As well as ...And Justice For All! It stops for me with Metallica, right there!

Is there anything on this site you would recommend I start with? I am working with a fender acoustic, an Ibanez ARZ800, an Ibanez RGA8( really looking forward to ERG study), and a Charvell Desolation.

Thanks again for your time!

Yeah I love Bark (my first ever Ozzy album) and Sin.. Ultimate Sin is very underrated with some ingenious rhythm playing that almost pre dates what Vai was doing with Roth and Whitesnake.

Well you mentioned you're interesting in exploring djent/progressive/technical... I'd recommend checking out Cosmin Lupu and Chowy Fernandez's lessons.. just search their name in the search bar ! smile.gif

Hey man! Great to have you here. smile.gif
Djent kills! I'm glad you like that. I'm new to the style, but the sound is pretty easy to play on the guitar, it seems. I hope you find all what you need here. Just ask if we can help you. The community has always been patient with me. happy.gif I really like your enthusiasm. I am a lively person, myself, and I find your attitude an inspiration!

Brandon

Thanks Gabriel! You were one of the first people to stand out as I looked around this site! I plan on checking on all of your teachings & insight! But, my problem is I work overnights here in the states, so I'm probably going to spend a little time trying to reorganize my schedule! It took a long time getting here, but I plan to stay!

Thanks Again!
