Post your top metronome bpm (beats-per-minute) speeds. When you have made some progress just edit your post - but leave the old speeds so we can see your progress. Don't forget to chose font "Courrier new" (upper left corner) when posting your tabs.
Here are some of my current exercises and speeds. I will most likely not get to edit my speeds - since I no longer focus on inreasing speed, but rather correct mistakes (cleanliness, control, eveness etc) caused by me wanting to push speed a little to quickly.... Tapping (allows for most speed!) 160 bpm sixteenth note triplets This is the kind of exercises you will find in Tapping lesson 4 (Could fit the "T":s to the right place - check the lesson istead for exact tabs) e|15-17-15-12-15-12-------------------| b|------------------15-17-15-12-15-12-| g|------------------------------------| d|------------------------------------| a|------------------------------------| e|------------------------------------| Legato (hammer-ons) 150 bpm sixteenth note triplets e|--------12h13h15| b|12h13h15--------| g|----------------| d|----------------| a|----------------| e|----------------| Speedpicking sixteenth notes 165 bpm (haven't done too much of this) Check out the "how to practice lesson" for this e|------------12-15-13-15| b|12-15-13-15------------| g|-----------------------| d|-----------------------| a|-----------------------| e|-----------------------| Speedpicking three notes per string, sixteenth note triplets, 120 bpm e|15-13-12---------| b|---------15-13-12| g|-----------------| d|-----------------| a|-----------------| e|-----------------| Speedpicking two-notes-per-string, sixteenth note triplets 110 bpm e|---------------| b|---------------| g|----------12-14| d|-----12-14-----| a|12-14----------| e|---------------| Sweeping, triplets, 240 bpm e|--------12-15/17-14--------| b|------13-----------15------| g|----12---------------14----| d|--14-------------------16--| a|15-----------------------17| e|---------------------------| Alternate picking "one-note-per-string" (sort of...) sixteenth notes 115 bpm e|14-17-15-14-12---------------12-15-14-12-10---------------| b|--------------13-----------13--------------12-----------12| g|-----------------12------12------------------10-------10--| d|-------------------14--14----------------------12---12----| a|---------------------15---------------------------14------| e|----------------------------------------------------------| So you might be noticing some techniques allow for way more speed than others! --Kris |

Two note per string madness!!!!
all normal E-tuning ------------12--14-- ---12--14----------- repeat 16th notes: 158 (yay!) - started with downstroke then alternate picked everything - (economy picking works better for this but I still have to learn/practice that technique) -----------14-------- repeat -----12-------------- 8th notes: 215 (so annoying ) -started with downstroke then alternate picked everything - ------------------------12--14----- -------------12---14--------------- repeat --12---14-------------------------- 16th note triplets: 85 -started with downstroke then altenate picked everything - ----------------------*tick*-12--13--14-- *tick*--12--13--14----------------------- triplets: 180 -started with downstroke then altenate picked everything - I can't wait to improve xD -------------------- The coolest new community: Lockerz Wanna join Lockerz? it's not really about playing fast it's about keeping time i think. Playing fast is just a plus, i feel that keeping time is the ultimate goal
