Hey there Jeremy,

This was a fortunate event that we matched, as you know we were already interchanged ideas a few times now And I am really a fan of your d.i.y amp project.

I believe we already have a disadventage as Iowa and Istanbul has 8 hours of time difference. But with you and I checking this thread in a regular basis this can be compensated...

Well before we start I will have some questions for you.

1-What do you plan to do in music? Do you play as an hobby or you want to get serious with it?
2-What are your weakest points in your guitar playing in your opinion?
3-How much time can you spare for playing guitar in a day?
4-Are ok with listening to other kinds of music than you actually like?
5-Who is your guitar hero? (I know I asked that already in PM but for the records )
6-Up the Irons?
7-Would you like to help me build my own amp? (Just kidding)
8-Are you familiar with music theory?
9-Can you easily concentrate while working on exercises or your attention easily slips away ? (This is serious as it affects the overall efficiency)
10-Do you have a suggestion about the way you'll learn better?

If you answer these questions when you have time, I'll try to suit your needs.

And also there are some timing issues, you tend to strum faster, your starting points are a la tempo but duration of strums shall be constant.

Not sure what this means.

This morning I worked on this some before work. I noticed that I have themost trouble going to G, F and D. So I went GFGFGFGFGFGFGFGFGF for while. Then FDFDFDFDFDFDFDFDFDFDFD for a while etc.... I think that helped.

2-Finger Independence exercise was great. You see while keeping you fingers down, it becames quite a challenge, but you got this right, for the next session, I want you to use this as a warm up exercise, and try to nail the next finger independence exercise.

There is still parts of Finger Independence I that I havent done. Like all the 2 finger parts... I need to do that too before going to Finger Independence II right? Should I be working towards any particular bpm here?

String Skipping - And also try to work your way on different patterns too. On the video you are doing the 1-3-4 (index-ring-pinky) version there is also 1-2-4 and 1-2-4wide versions to it(index-middle-pinky) (index-middle-pinky wide ) you should try them also next time.

I need to watch the video I guess. I just printed the tab and was playing it however felt comfortable. I wasnt paying attention to what fingers I used.

4-Losfer words are ok, rhythm parts nailed, solo is correct. You play it on time, There are still some little timing issues but you will eradicate them in time as you get used to playing.

Thanks. This is feeling good. THe parts after that first solo are difficult to count out. Its an odd arrangement thing, instrumental tunes are hard to follow at times.... But thats the part I am working on next.

5-Sanitorium solo was without problem until the fast part.

Right. I'll use the GP file and slow it down. I've been playing with the cd. Its tough using a metronome for me on this one cuz I find it hard to follow the beat on solos. I do it all by feel and just try to get it to match the cd. Rather than knowing where the notes fall with the beats. This solo in particular is tough to hear against the beat while playing it. Does this make sense? I need to spend some time listening to the beat and seeing what notes fall where. Then I can tap my foot along with it. That will help. It will also allow me to play it with a metronome.

Slowing down GP files doesnt always help since it can get kinda "skippy" when you slow them down. Know what I mean?

I have been alternate picking it all. To my knowledge anyway... I am used to alternate picking all of the time anyway. Am I not alternate picking it? Gonna look at the video again.... I thought I was.
