Epi Buzz Problem

Hey guys,

I'm selling my Epiphone LP. So I take it out of the case (it's been there for a month), and play it......and it has a dreadful string buzz on the open high E string. So I have tried a couple of things....

1) I seen that the fret were almost lifting out of the neck..so I grabbed a hammer and punch, and gently tapped them back in place....didn't fix the buzz though

2) Raised bridge....didn't fix buzz until it was high enough to have it play uncomfortably. So I put it back where it was.

3) tried dinting the 1st fret down a bit (haha it seems to work a bit, but I don't want to wreck it).

So basically, I'd like to try raising the nut. Is there anyway I can do this easily (and/or quickly) ?

The guitar sounds fine, and you can't hear the buzz through the amp on clean....Just I know it's there and don't want to sell it like that.

Any suggestions on the nut thing...or anything else?
