I came across this site some time ago, and I was wondering if anyone has tried these? First on my list is still Vonhotch's though!

No, no, as it says somewhere on the site, it is from extinct mammoths, which you could only killl by time traveling 10.000 years back.

"Mammoth is the ONLY 100% legal AND ethical source of ivory

Woolly Mammoths are extinct, having died out approximately 10,000 years ago. The only way to kill a mammoth these days is to hop in a time machine, dial it back 10,000 years or so and fight off saber-tooth tigers and other Ice Age fauna in your quest for your mammoth trophy! Today, mammoth tusks are found primarily in the Tundra of Russia and North America during the Summer thaw. In Siberia, mammoth tusks are sometimes found sticking out of the ground after being pushed up through the layers of earth. In Alaska, gold miners find many of the tusks as they dig for their riches. Mammoth Ivory is certainly a finite resource, and is becoming more difficult to acquire each year."

This information is really interesting. I wouldn't have imagined that somebody used Mammoth Ivory for picks. They has been very original. I wonder how this ones sound.

PS: I felt in love with Von hotch picks. I'll be doing a thread about them soon.

Aye, I've noticed that after examining the site a little bit closer smile.gif I was so outraged with the thought, initially, that I wanted to convince myself it is not elephant tusks smile.gif

Fossil ivory is also used for bridge saddles, nuts and bridge pins. First I'd heard of it being used for picks, but it makes sense.
