D is for Dimarzio - the same custom wounds previously ONLY available on the Axis! How does it stack up to the real thing?

Interesting. What is it about the Wolfgang model that you liked so much?

Thanks PosterBoy! That's why I started my site - so many reviews you see in magazines these days just read like publicity/marketing articles.

SeeJay - something about the Wolfgang just suits me. The neck profile and its oiled finish were a match made in heaven the first time I picked mine up, and the slightly more aggressive body suits me better than an EBMM Axis. Also, its pickups are hotter than the Axis. It's very personal though, of course.

I dig the way you describe it. Started with the feel and how you connected with it then ended with the sound. Both are super important parts, but if you don't connect with an instrument, who cares how it sounds.
