While discussing crazy processors like Kemper and Helix with friends here, there are also good news for the budget processors.

Boss gt-1;

This really stormed the web, already stocks ran-out on some stores...same quality sounds of the GT-100 in a small size and much more affordable. As I understand software-wise it doesn't have the crazy routing capabilitys and some sound shaping features most would call detail, but owners clam they can mimic their existing gt100 processors presets very accuratly.

I've listened to it many times as GMC member Phil66 have been using gt-001 and have always liked the tones. Great move from boss to carry those sounds to a budget a majority can afford.

Zoom G Series;

The g5n has been out for a while and the g3n series have recently been sarting to show-up

The first reviews were terrible and you'd likely find them on a web search, but every month new fx/amps are added and seems owners started to like it more and more. The existing sounds are updated from the previous generation as thats the main advantage, the fx/amps placements can be configured (boss gt-1 comes standard placement)

But the main downside is there is a limit to its dsp, meaning if you load too power hungry fx it will warn you that it can't handle it. No problem for standard setups (usually) but for experimental approaches its adviced to use it with an amp or with pedals to save power.
