Muris I notice with your videos it seems a few of your fingers fan out from your picking hand. I read on another thread you like to anchor the wrist on the bridge. But with the fingers that are fanned out do they rest or occasionally hit the pick guard. I can tell you are definately not resting the fingers on the pickguard all the time but is contact with the pick guard something that should be avoided ?

Well spotted,some fingers fan out here and there.
But they do not rest on the picking guard or hit it,they just fan out without intention.
I prefer not to rest them on picking board(guitar body in general),
that way your picking hand is kind a "locked" imho.
But I do rest wrist on the bridge!
Then you just do all the job with your wrist while picking
and you are able to cover all strings nicely plus it's on desired
position to do palm muting when needed.

ok thanks. I find that my fingers do hit the pick guard and while they are not anchored on the pickguard in one position they are definately in contact with it or gliding across it. I guess I should work on picking them up a bit to keep them off the pick guard as much as possible. I also rest my wrist on the bridge. I can't really tuck my fingers in all the way (at least it seems that way) because I play a stratocaster and the volume knob is really right in the way if I were do to that, so I fan my fingers out to be in front of the volume knob and not hit it. The only other way would be to move my wrist so far forward that it would be in front of the volume but then it can't rest on the bridge and it would need to be free floating which seems difficult. Most of the guys I see playing strats play with their fingers fanned out, not sure if it's the volume knob reason or something else.
