Lets continue our look at some of the best tube amps for 2021 before we run out of year!!! Some of these are combo amps, some are amp heads. Each is unique and each is worthy of inclusion in your home studio. To wit!

4.)MESA/BOOGIE MARK FIVE 35 ($2,050)
Mesa amps are legendary for a good reason. They make amazing gear. It’s that simple. This is perhaps one of the best tube combo amps on the market today. It can do jazz, it can do brutal Death Metal, it can do quite a bit. It’s a 35 watt amp that is switchable to 10 watts. This is important as 35 watts of Mesa can still be painfully loud in a bedroom. It’s got the pre and power tubes that folks love. It’s got a full size celestion speaker. It’s a huge amount of tone in a package with a handle. It does weigh nearly 50 pounds so it’s not a light amp by any stretch. Still it’s a monster and will not let you down in any way. You can do mid gain, light gain or it’s best party trick, monster destruction gain. It’s a two channel amp so it’s not a one trick pony. This is a gig ready, recording ready amp.

5.)MILKMAN SOUND DARY AIR ($2,000)

This guy is really focused on doing a really nice clean tone. If you are a jazz player, or just want a great clean tone, this one is for you. It’s got wads of head room. You can push it to the wall and keep it clean. These are hand made amps that harken back to early Fender units in some ways. It does not do high gain, it doesn’t have reverb or tremolo, what it does have is a great clean tone.

6.)ORANGE ROCKERVERB 50 MKIII HEAD ($2,000)
No list of tube amps would be complete without an Orange. One thing to be careful about. 50 Watts of Orange amp is enough to deafen you in a home setting and enough to get your neighbors ready to call the police. It’s a weapon. It’s a noise hazard. It’s wonderful. You are paying top dollar but you are getting a top quality 2 channel amp. This will push full size guitar cabs all the way to melting point. That is both a blessing and a curse in that it’s hard to get the most out of this unit unless you are pushing the volume. It will do mid gain on the gain channel but the point of this amp is very high gain tones. The good news is that you get a 25 watt half power mode that keeps you from going deaf in home settings but is still plenty loud. This is a great amp, with great tone. It’s hard to go wrong with this one in your collection. It’s why you often see at least one Orange head in collections featuring top end tube amps. In a world of plugins, this is the BIG IRON that still makes your hair stand on end.
