Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate!

This lesson is an excellent choice for you. The topic here is Hand Sync and that's the main issue that I find in this take. Your hands go together in the slower sections, but as soon as you have to play a faster lick, your hands lose sync.

I think that you need to divide this solo in smaller blocks and try to make your movements smaller and your hands go tight together. I also notice that your left hand fingers could stay closer to the fretboard when they are not pressing, there are extra movements there that you could avoid and that will help with sync.

Your playing sounds clean, there are not unwanted noises, and your timing is also good here. You need to put all your focus to make your hands go together. I could say that even in the slower sections, there is some room to adjust this element.

Keep on the hard work!

I can see a good deal of improvement from when I first remember seeing your starting rec takes and it's great to see! You have gained quite a bit in terms of being able to articulate your fret hand and play discreet scales. You didn't miss any of the notes and didn't create string noise which is always a concern when using most/all of the strings. I do see what Gabriel is talking about in terms of your finger position and it's something that should get better as you go forward. SLASH is a good example of using very little motion on the fret hand and keeping the fingers very close to the board and getting great results out of it. The more precision work you do, the tighter your finger position will get so keep it up!!!!

Cool!

What's obvious to me here is that as soon as there is a position shift, you have audible hand sync issues. So I would guess you have previously spent quite some time practicing picking in one position.

What I would recommend you to do is to either just keep practicing this kind of lesson - or isolate a single exercise that contains a position shift.

Since this lesson is mostly about technique I won't really consider the mix which is not that great for the ears. It is however great we can clearly hear your playing.

I will give you a 6 here, if you could remain synced throughout the whole take you would obviously get a much better grade.

Keep up the hard work!

Hey there again!

Same as Gab I think this one is an excellent choice for you. Thi lesson definitely exposed your issue with triplets. You start to handle the sync within squre rhythm values - 8th and 16th notes. your right hand needs to get used to the fact that on the triplet the accents skip from downstroke to upstroke every 3 notes. Maybe we could even say that triplets are sorto of separate techniqe. My tip for you is to keepo working on this one but using less gain. Some sync isses can be masked with that mauch of gain. I would also advice to play a drum loop or metronome and find a resonebale tempo where you would alternately play a bar of 16th notres and a bar or 8th notes triplets. That would be my main focus now.
