I started to try out some sliding today, I'm a huge Johnny Winter fan, and he uses that alot.
Does anyone know what tuning he use?
Also, its no problem using standard tuning for this?

Thanks.

I think when using a Slide most people use an Open Tuning, so you should start there.

Unfortunatley, thats all i know.

Most open tunings work well for slides. try open g. its good you like johnny, he and his brother are the two greatest albino blues guitarists ever.(granted theres not alot of competition for that title.)

Thank you, I just read about it actually tongue.gif Some people also use standard tuning, Muddy waters for instance.

But my dad just showed me the coolest and easiest thing in the world: using drop D when sliding! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
