Hey everyone!
I am having a hell of a time recreating the sound used for the main guitar in the song Plush by the Stone Temple Pilots. It sounds to me like a distorted flange or divebomb effect but no matter what I do I usually have to much of one thing or the other or vice versa. I am playing a PRS Custom 22 through a Zoom 7.1 UT into a DI Box and then directly into the PA. I just cant seem to tweak the preset flange in the Zoom to get that sound. Any suggestions? Does anyone know what equipment Dean DeLeo used on that recording?
Here's an article that discusses his live setup. Not necessarily what the studio sound is, but maybe close?
