There always was a free version but had 550 presets. This is the paid version giving away for free, it has 1800 presets. I'm downloading it right now.

It's the same sound as the original, but you can't dive-in deep for editing. Instead it comes with a limited pre-defined controls which is actually better for a beginner.

WOW! This is just what I needed to push my project! I can't thank you enough for sharing it, I would've never found it myself!

Awesome! smile.gif

I really like my SM1, demoed SM 2.9 but didn't like it enough to buy it. It's been around for a very long time and having a bit too much EDM presets to me was a downside.

But I couldn't pass it as a freeware biggrin.gif the pad's by the way are particularly famous, 1800 presets needs a bit surfing but there are many good stuff in it.

Just the sequences and rhythms I checked today made me realize it would be more than enough for backing tracks for my project. Those would make a decent ambient/stealth/synthwave tracks for my game.

I'm actually considering a keyboard to play my own melodies over them too. I don't know if it's a good decision and have no idea about keyboard brands. I have a pretty good reason to celebrate, so I'll do some reading first.

I told my brother about it but he wasn't interested. In my opinion, he should at least claim it because one can't tell what kind of music they will end up making.

I forgot to mention, when open default the enginer quality is set to lowest (draft). Under preset name (on the very top) there is a left/right arrow default poliphony, click that till "global engine quality" and select best for recording. It takes a bit more cpu but makes it sound a bit better too.

By keyboard you mean a midi keyboard (to control/play software) or a real synthesizer?
