"With precision of the fingers goes precision of the mind"

I knew he said this in one of the Agatha Christie novels, but did not remember with one. I came across it on youtube. At 4 minute mark. He was creating a house of cards at the time, but the same principle applies to us. I do feel that playing has made me smarter in other ways. I think it makes sense.

I also feel smarter since I started to play guitar, but then I suppose you get smarter the more you age also when you are young. But I want to blame the guitar playing. tongue.gif

I actually saw this very episode on TV a few weeks go tongue.gif

I can definitely say that the complex-ness (if that's a word) of guitar theory has opened my mind to other aspects of life ^^

Nicely put man, precision is what is the most important thing, and although lots of things affect our playing and how we behave, I think precision has a generalized meaning here. It can mean "discipline", "commitment", "persistency", "consistency", just precision in doing all kinds of things in life, from planning a practice session precisely to planing a gig precisely. If we can be precise in many of these things, we are on the road to success.

I agree, these words more than anything else. You -know- that one who excels at music has gone through all of those wordsv - discipline, commitment and persistency. smile.gif
