Left Wrist Injury

I sustained a wrist injury a couple of months ago while string bending - and it hasn't gone away. I even took ibuprofen and stopped playing for four days. I will say that it stops hurting when I play, this includes when I bend. But I'm having difficulty performing certain tasks at work when my left wrist gets hung up in a certain positions. Do any of you play with nagging wrist injuries? I'm considering laying off for a while, but know the decision would be a difficult one to stick to.

Yes, it's common for me to have to rest my fretting hand's wrist. It's irritating doing so, but I'd rather it healed, as the other outcome involves not being able to play for much longer.
