I did go to the doctor and he said it was most likely tendonitis not carpal tunnel. He said carpal tunnel is usually felt on the inside part of the wrist (with your palm facing you). The tunnel is where those nerves and tendons connect to your hand. (Think Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back, remember when he's checking out his new hand?) My pain was on the opposite side. He prescribed a good time- released anti- inflammatory called Lodine and told me to lay off playing for a little while. I'm already feeling much better.
Glad to hear you sorted things out, man! Now, there is only two things to take care of:
- be patient and do not rush into playing until you are fully recovered
- after starting practicing again, take care of your hands, ok?
