A fun teen movie about a battle of the bands, without watered down pop rock.

Cameo appearances from
Tom Moello
Scott Ian
Kirk Hammnet
Rob Halford

I've watched worse

I don't watch many movies and not much of these kinda movies, but I like to see metal shown more in media like this. Not sure about what image of metal it brings though, but at least it's something, I suppose!

Have not watched it yet as it seems a bit "after school special"/"coming of age" pic which usually I find grinding, but if you've watched it and it's actually good I'll give it a go!! smile.gif

I do approve of Metal being the substrate of just about any narrative of course. Speaking of which, this is another "coming of age" sort o pic, also with Metal as it's substrate but done in a bit more art house vibe. I saw it at a screening during the Atlanta Film Festival and thought it was really good.

I blame John Hughes for my liking of the coming of age type films.

They distract me from adult life

I LOVE john hughes films. Than again, I was much younger when his classics were in release. The music in his films was always a highlight for me. Such wonderful films as The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Some Kind of Wonderful are still enjoyable movies imho. I fear I've just gotten older and grumpier and less a fan of Modern pop so many modern coming of age films fall flat or me. This one looks way more insteresting than anty i've seen in years.

I watched this a couple of weeks ago, quite enjoyed it although from the advert I saw for it I was expecting it to be more about the music. Still, an enjopyable watch!!

It's about a young girl who burns down a local church and goes "straight" but gets called back in to the life when a small metal label finds her demo. I loved the movie smile.gif
