Cuz boy do I sure need help with these!
Sweeping seems to be the picking style I have the most trouble with, and probably for good reason I mean, it does seem hard to master.

Anyway, I'm comfortable enough where I can do 3 string sweeps up and down pretty well, but anymore strings more than that and my left and right hand coordination is on a suicide mission! Also, I'm a lot better sweeping down the strings than coming back up.

I want to be able to do those crazy 5 and 6 string sweeps, but I seem to be stuck (I havent had much guidance, and I dont want to create the habit of wrong sweeping technique)...

heres and example of where I want to be someday...
sweeping

As all things guitar playing, I can hear it now... "PRACTICE"! I know I'll hear it again, but I have TRULY been practicing these things hard (probably at least an hour dedicated to them a day!). I seem to be missing something.... sad.gif

even if you practice every day, sweeping takes a lot of time to perfect. I recall Pavel saying that it takes some years of practice to be able to sweep fast and fluid. So dont expext to do that in a month, but keep practicing and eventually youll make it,

And sweeping takes a lot of time to get used to so don't get stressed because of it! Just practice it every day and you'll do it! smile.gif

Oh and Gabriel has also some lessons where he uses sweep picking but only 3 and 2 string shapes.

Same problem. I've gotten good at shredding, string skipping, and pretty much everything without advancing at all on sweeps, and I spend as much time practising everything. common problem?
