I just re-soldered my guitar for the millionth time as it always sounded like crap when I was finished. Now it sounds really damn good, but with one problem, I only have to turn the volume knob slightly to completely turn down the volume. Both pickups have their own separate volume pots but this happens for both. dry.gif

Since I usually play with the volume at full it isnt much of a problem. tongue.gif

Don't know what could be the problem. Maybe buying some new pots?

Possibly, but I think it may just be my wiring as both pots are different, one was a spare from EMGs I bought and one was one I removed from another guitar, but I have the same problem in both.

Would it have anything to do with the ground wire? as I read online that to turn volume down you direct the current flow to the ground wire? huh.gif

I think ground has nothing to do with it.
But since you play with full volume that's no big deal. wink.gif
You can try with new pots tho.

I don't know if this is the reason of your problem, but pots for guitar are in general with 500k (humbacker), 250k (single coil) or 25k (active) resistance. What kind of pickups do you use?

They are both passive humbuckers, and the pots are 500k I think, but i'm not sure.
