Hello Guitar master class. I'm kind of new here, but i would like to ask a question for help regarding rhythm guitar.

I am intermediate to advanced on soloing and i know all my guitar theory, but i am not pleased with my rhythm guitar tricks. I can express myself very well on single melody lines and soloing, and i know all the scales i should know including some exotic scales.

I want to be able to carry out good advanced all kinds of metal, blues, funk, rock rhythms that would be pleasing to the human ear, but i can only complete ordinary chord progression riffs switching with palm muting, and all that basic stuff. I want guitar riffs to be a part of me, and i want to do some riffing techniques like Killswitch Engage, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Megadeth,Lamb of God, In Flames and Led Zeppelin, but some of their riffs seems too complex for a rhythm guitar noobie like myself.

So my question is, what should i practice on guitar master class to get my rhythm guitar to a new level, so all kind of rhythms would be very easy for me, and a peace of cake, so i can express myself freely in what style of rhythm i want to do. I am willing to do the work for this kind of rhythm guitar talent. I want to hear a riff and say "Piece of cake, and jam it out on my guitar."

Another question is how do i work on my ear so i can hear songs, and just play them, because i feel that i'm also behind on ear playing. I want to play all the music i hear in my head and on cd. How would i achieve this goal?

Any suggestions on my lesson plan?

Well if you really like what those bands play, try to listen carefully and analyze their songs and riffs and make stuff up that sound similar. Than you can combine that stuff to create something new.
Also if you already know your theory well, then I suggest practicing intervals, particularly on bass strings. With a broader knowledge of intervals you will find much more easier to apply them and combine them with all the stuff you already know.
Also very important thing to be aware of is rhythm and timing of course. Try practicing everything in half notes, quarters, quarter triplets, eights, eights triplets, sixteen, 16 triplets and so on. This will give you a better sense of rhythm note values, and will allow you to form more complex rhythmic patterns in riffs. Remember, when doing rhythm, rhythm note values (both pauses and notes equally) are just as important as what notes you a using.

Try to learn some songs from the bands you like that can certanly help you riffing, atleast it worked for me. Then you can work on Pavel Heavy Metal for begginers and his Rhapsody of fire style lessons, They all cantain some really good riffing. And if you want some death metal riffing check out Lian Gerbinos and Toni Souminens lesson

Edit: Welcome to the site btw
