So since ive had the new rack system, ive done alot of tinkering. I enjoy the solo sounds of the voodu valve but i just can't get any really heavy distortion out of it, which i really wanted. All the metal presets suck pretty badly, and when custom making patches, which takes forever, i never get the kind of thick distortion im looking for. I know everything ive read about the voodu valve people say you can get good sounds out of it if your willing to spend alot of time messing with it.
So no that im throughly frustrated, and spend more time turning knobs on the dang thing then i do playing, im considering getting something a little easier to use like a pod x3. it can record, it is a footpedal ( which is nice because to change patches now i have to turn more knobs
) and i can use my existing power amp for a totally trasparent way to amplify the pod for live usage. Am i crazy? or does this sound like a better idea??
