Hey GMC and welcome to a new VIDEO Collab - I call it the DESERT BUS COLLAB ! Why ?? Because 2 of our 'lovable' GMC regulars (A certain German and Finn who shall remain nameless)decided to start a campaign of terror against me, urging me to come and do a new collab for you all. Among their suggested materials of 'Inspiration' was this awesome bus simulator game, called.. you guessed it, 'DESERT BUS.'
However, never one to shy away from a challenge.. I actually went and spent some time in the American desert and recorded some ambient sounds which you will hear on the following backing track. Desert_Bus_Collab.mp3 ( 1.37MB ) Number of downloads: 549 For my musical cues, I was inspired by a vintage SEGA game called 'Road Rash II', which featured a level in Arizona. I love the fat, greasy 6/8 dawdling groove so I stole the idea... Tempo: 110bpm Key: D The bass line is just the root note of D, with a brief minor pentatonic C,A,C bit at the end of the 8th bar. The solitary D note means you have free reign to abuse as many of the D related modes as you wish because there is no overall minor or major tonality. The tonality is ambiguous. D Lydian run you say ? Why not, indeed. D Phyrigan ? You evil little so and so - do it ! If you want to show me your practise runs or your takes in all their glory then by all means chuck a Youtube video in the thread. However, when it comes to the time for sending me stuff.... Don't forget to gimme: Your isolated guitar audio track Your video Deadline is 8th August !! This post has been edited by Ben Higgins: Jul 30 2013, 08:49 PM |
