New Axe Bind

I have recently started looking at many high quality guitars, including artist signature guitars. I literally fell in love with the Ibanez JEM7V the first time I came to GMC (Thanks Pavel!) The Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster really catches my eye, but I'm not sure that I like the color I have a huge desire for a scalloped fretboard, as Neoclassical Music is my passion (Though I definatly need more theory work!) It's really more about the player. Get a guitar you feel comfortable playing, then if the tone isn't quite what you want, work on the pickups. Mar 7 2008, 03:34 AM	GMC:er Posts: 173 Joined: 16-May 07 From: North Carolina, USA	I wish I could have the opportunity to play on a JEM None of the local guitar stores carry anything above $1800..unless you're buying from a custom guitar shop..which goes for around $2000 and up for a very basic design I really have fallen in love with the JEM I must say I've only played on a Schecter once, and I really like the deep sound it has to it (I believe it was a Diamond series) As far as strats go, I started on a Squier strat, and despite the annoying buzz that comes from the factory pickups, my heart will always go out to Strats But I still love the JEM XD I really have a thing for the JEM/RG style guitars. The fact that I've never owned a single 6 string floyd rose guitar makes me sad, as I do enjoy playing on them :] Oh my, I've gone on too long XD Thanks for the input guys You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. I took the route of buying several middle of the road guitars, or I could have just bought 1 really high end guitar. But as soon as I found a guitar I REALLY liked, I wished I had gotten the high end version of it, but don't get me wrong, I absolutely lovvvveee my mainstay (ESP LTD DV8-R), a DV8 or a KV-2 would have been stellar. So my advice for you is play as many guitars as they will let you. Find one that when you play it, you get the feeling that your eyes have been opened and that THAT is what a guitar is supposed to feel like. At the same time, know what is important to you, are you a name brand elitist? Or maybe a Nationalist and you are convinced that only quality guitars are made in xxxxxxx country? Consider all of these when purchasing so you don't get a guitar you're initially happy with then as you go on and keep reading this forum, the envy of other peoples gear will build.
