Hi
Im moving my post here. Old post. Basicly im looking for a new all valve combo amp, that can go from nice clean to heavy distortion. I don't want to use any pedals to make the sound useable. . Unfortunately mesa, bogner, engl etc is unavailable here so i really need some help. Whats your guys ratings and ideas ? |

Check out Hughes & Kettner then, the Switchblade 50W combo. It's a lot of fun, plenty of knobs  , built in effects and a MIDI board for switching between pre programmed sounds. And it's all tube spite the built in effects.Great cleans up to distortion-heaven&hell. British or American, you choose. Sound good on bedroom volume too. -------------------- My bands homepage

It's not an amp with a distinctive, recognisable benchmark sound. It's just a darn good amp that does all of the above and it does it extremely good. Modern clean British crunch British hi-gain American hi-gain Besides Gain there is the Gain boost (gain knob at max) which will add the "right" frequencies depending on the channel you're on. Helpful wnen you want gain a bit over the top EDIT: "You can't tweak a Mesa to sound like a Marshall, or a Marshall to sound like a Fender etc etc." Excuse my ignorance. The Stiletto has EL34's and may well be able to do Marshall sound, british for sure. I have to say I just don't know but after reading up I know one thing, I should check this amp up a bit more.
