I've been reading Tony Iommi's autobiography and one of the things he talks about is an album he made in 1986 that was originally intended to be a solo album. He wanted to use different singers on it, including Rob Halford apparently.. but it didn't work out. He got Glenn Hughes to sing on it and it sounded awesome. However, the record company insisted that Tony use the Black Sabbath name even though he didn't want to. So, it was released as 'Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi'. Silly or what ?

Anyway, the album is called 'Seventh Star' and it's got some great stuff on it. I have an old copy on vinyl but I don't have a record player.. so Youtube has to make up for it wink.gif

Tony's contribution to the world of the riff is beyond dispute but I also think he reached a new height with his lead playing in the 80's. cool.gif
