Now I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to guitars, my abilities certainly don't warrant it by any means, nor does my musical output.

So I made myself feel ok buying the import PRS SE Custom 24-08

I watched lots of reviews and the tour of the Indonesian factory which made me feel that I'd made a good choice.

It arrived this morning, I was lucky that the flame maple veneer is really nice, I've seen some that aren't what you'd hope for.

Fit and finish is flawless, I really can't fault it

The wide thin neck is the thinnest I've played since I sold my RG, given that my go to guitar is my Tyler with a chunky 59 neck, this does require some adjustment but I don't hate it.

It's strung up with 9s which I thought I would struggle with as with 25.5 scale I play 10s and 24.75 scale 11s, but I don't feel the need to change them straight away.

The TCI-s pickups are bright, I've put the tone knob down to 6 to help tame it and get it into the ball park of my normal tone, The pickups may get swapped eventually but I'll wait for a while.

With the split coil options this is a versatile guitar and I can see my Tyler getting jealous

I also bought the PSE SE locking tuners for it, so I'll install them when I get around to a string change
