I'm considering splashing out for this, but it's very difficult to find any reviews or similar online. Any of you guys ever tried it?

Just buy the guitar. You can always take send it back - but I doubt you'll want to.

I hate the way Ibanez names their guitars! The BRD-459-Q36 Ulidium Space Modulator.

I would say though that if you like Ibanez and that is not a $200 guitar, you will probably love it.

The one I was going to sell in the other thread is awesome - it's a Prestige and the neck is incredible. The only reason I was going to sell it was if I had to sell one I could not get rid of my PRSs.

So right now my Ibanez is at the luthier being set up for B F# B E G# C#.

Wouldn't expect any weak points for such a guitar, I would expect it to be heavy (as much as a LP type guitar) though.

Yeah, I already own a 6 string sort of high end, RG3570z, which retailed at around 2000 dollars, same as the one I'm looking at if not more, so I doubt I won't like it. I like what I'm seeing of it, but I probably won't be able to try it out before buying.



Don't mind heavy guitars too much. We'll see what happens, if I buy it or not. I have around 2.000 dollars to spend on a new guitar, and I'm leaning mostly towards the RG3727.

Nice scale length for a 7 string guitar. Their 8 string necks are often quite hard to play. But that looks comfortable. Yeah I don't know, I'd want to try it before buying it. Saying that, I bought the RG2228 Prestige for $2500 and wasn't THAT happy with it. Still I own and cherish it.

Yeah, of course there are no guarantees for liking it, but at least I know the scale length is similar to my current Schecter 7 string. However I think I'd much prefer and like an Ibby 7

As an owner of an IBBY 7, I can tell you that you will probly dig it That neck on there, for a 7, is about as comfy a neck as I've every played. My 7 has the same measurements and it's just the best playing 7 I've ever tried, bar none. Then again I've never tried some of the more rare 7 strings such as the european made custom shop guitars that cost as much as a used car. E.g. strandberg, etc.

Longer scale lengths do allow for deeper tunings without string flop. However, I have a 25.5 scale on my 7 (rg 7620) which is the same as my 6, and it works great. Then again I don't tune down to Z. I keep it standard tuning with a Low B. After playing several 8 string guitars, I've found that "heavy" sounding bits are more a matter of the player than tuning. Also, longer scale length does mean a pinch more string tension which means a generally less expressive instrument. I've tried many scale sizes and keep coming back to 25.5 which is sorta the mid point between the short dean scale and the longer baritone scales.
