Gabriel suggested a topic for a discussion of compact live rigs. Here are my comments.

I can recommend an AMT SS-20. It's a pedal with a tube preamp. It has great sound, 2 channels, and passable cabinet emulation. Like Mertay, I have a friend who likes his Tech 21 Flyrig. It sounds nice and has a couple of effects and it's under $300 US. But if you're looking for a small live rig for around $600, it's hard to beat the Atomic Amplifire. Sounds great, a good array of amps to choose from, has a selection of effects, and IR loading. It doesn't really have any competition for a compact live rig in that price range right now. If you can go over $1000 US, the Fractal AX8 and Line 6 Helix are the kings right now for compact live rigs in that price range.
