Ouch! That made me cringe a bit. I have had my strap come off the tail end on a few occasions but I was always lucky enough to catch it before it hit the floor.
On another occasion I wasn't so lucky. I was running late on my way to work at a music store giving guitar lessons and while running across the street my case came open and my guitar came out crashing down and it and went sliding across the street. It ended up with some pretty bad road rash on the back and the neck joint on the LP copy became very loose and disjointed but some glue and clamps fixed it luckily.
