I've never heard him but I've found this video fantastic!! Thanks a lot for sharing. It's interesting to see how virtuosity is much more than how fast you can play, and the fact that the most difficult piece to play is based on intonation difficulty shows how important is training year for a musician.
This is the piece: Check Cael's video for details. -------------------- My lessons

I don't really know what to think of it. I was listening to it for 15 minutes, and some parts sound okay, while some parts sound quite off

Interesting to be sure (I like the piece) but not revolutionary or any more difficult in relation to other contemporary classical music written since about 1918 or so.
Webern - 5 pieces for sting quartet. Besides 1/4 tones it employs 'extended' technique on the strings: using the wood of the bow, playing on the bridge, lotsa harmonics, etc. But in spite of all that it's an incredibly beautiful piece of music. Penderecki - Threnody Crumb - Black Angels Xenakis - Metastasis Ligeti - Lux Aeterna There's a hundred year's worth of stuff like this.
