Welcome Ruben!
To learn to improvise/solo you could start learning the minor pentatonic scale, all 5 positions, if you haven't already. Then use it over backings etc. It's fun & useful -------------------- Guitars:

Hello Ruben, and welcome to GMC!
Don't hesitate to post the questions that you need on the forum boards, we are all about sharing knowledge here! Regarding your improvising problems, you have to learn theory a bit better to be able to improvise nicely. If you learned the pentatonic scale properly, now it's time to cover diatonic scale pattern and learn the chords. By knowing chords you can accent the notes from the harmony in such a manner that it sounds good. This is the foundation of improvising. I suggest two things: First is practical https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/master...n_caged_method/ it's a diatonic pattern that contains pentatonic scale as well, you may recognize the positions of the CAGED system if you rehearsed pentatonic scale before. Try to learn this and remember the patterns well, so you can form a big pattern out of these 5 in your head. theory: Go here and read everythign you don't know, starting from the basics. Most people thing theory is overrated, but in fact, without theory you don't know what you are playing and just poking in the dark. You have to learn the intervals, chords and scales first. Also check out this beginner lesson plan, you may want to skip some of the first lessons tho: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=312457 If you have any more questions, let me know, throw me a PM, or post a topic on the forum, and I will respond ASAP. cheers, Ivan -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
