Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Awesome Matthew! So cool to see a REC take from you 😎

Your tone is very tasty with with super nice attack.

Also your added lead notes show you have good understanding for where the pockets are in this guitar arrangement - and your version would actually make up for a cool rock track if you keep working on it.

The single note section starting at 01:07 is a good opportunity to work on your vibrato/bending - you need much more of this to get close to Denes sound.

Overall this is extremely promising and I hope to see more action from you on the REC board.

(not grading since your take is not following the lesson strictly)

Hi Mathew!

This is a cool extended version of the lesson. I think you have a very good foundation here. Most of the parts sound groovy, and your guitar sound is pretty Zeppelin. During the next few days it would be good if you keep trying to adjust some moments of the chord changes, when there is silence, or the change is not smooth enough.

Also, in the part where you play on single strings (00:27), I recommend that you use only downward picking motion, and try to emulate the vibrato that the instructor adds. This will give it a much more rock and energetic vibe, as the style requires.

Finally, those licks that you play for example at 00:47 are very good, but there is also missing the addition of vibrato. I recommend you check out this lesson:

Keep up that practice! Greetings.

Hi Mathew!

Your take is very enjoyable and the tone that you chose fits well with the lesson.
I will not repeat what has already been said.

0:26 - 0:40 - take care on this part because you play it totally differently. You start ok the lick but when you repeat this, on E lower string, you need to play that notes two times (review the tab) and at the end of this part that notes should be played 3 times (according to the main video and slow video).
Look, because in this particular part we have some mistakes between the main video, slow videos and tabs, my advice is to follow the main video made by the instructor. Slow down this and try to play in the same way.
Also, if you listen carefully the backing track, you can hear very well where are the spots when you need to play one time, two times and three times that notes.
If things are still unclear to you, give me a message (or make a thread) and I will help you with additional explanations.

Other than this, be careful to not have unwanted string noises.

Your take it doesn't qualify for grading but keep up your good work! smile.gif
