Task 13 : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Phrase-Book-Pre-Bends/

Our bending journey continues !! The focus this time is pre bends, where you bend a string before sounding the note with your pick. There are some regular bends in here as well.

Considering how well you did in the last Task, I've given you this confident that you'll nail it ! smile.gif

Deadline next Friday 27th April or I remove your knee caps. Don't feel pressured now and have a nice day.

Nice one Ben. Looking forward to this one. Been watching some Gary Moore and feeling like bending.

No pressure mate! Pressure will only kick in next friday when me my hands and guitar have some heated words about how we can work together to finish the task. biggrin.gif

Nice one, once again. Which is also great with your Assignments, it's that I discover lessons I haven't noticed.
I've spent some time on it lesson today, and I can play it at 70 bpm (but I didn't make any record, which could lead to some surprises). The last lick is the most difficult part at 90 bpm. So I have a few days to play it up to speed. smile.gif

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH !!!! mad.gif
It's awful ! I seem to be quite OK on bendings, but my timing is too irregular. I've tried to record at 70 bpm, and then slowed down to 50 bpm. There's always some notes that don't sound when they should, too early or too late. i thought I was quite good on timing some weeks ago. wacko.gif
I'll be back on it tomorrow, and I shall succeed ! ph34r.gif

Hey Ben,
I hope this take will be enough to keep my knee caps. mellow.gif
I've been struggling a lot with timing here, especially the two triplets zones and some other parts too.
One other thing : I've made thousands of takes at 70 bpm (maybe not that much, but a lot wink.gif ) and there is always something that won't be good. I don't understand.
Here is the best I could do before the deadline. Waiting for your comments about bendings and timing.
Bonne nuit.

Bonjour ! Yes, your knee caps are safe this week so you can enjoy your croissants in peace wink.gif

This is really good, there's only a couple of slightly flat bends right at the end but the rest are pretty well pitched. The bend at 0:23 was good but then went slightly higher afterwards ! tongue.gif

The triplet pull off thing, I wouldn't worry about as it was only the bending we're really working on so I would say this was a great success !

Here is my attempt at hurting your ears Sensei Ben. I know I need to practice this slower so I can get the vibrato on notes sounding. I havn't sorted out slowing down the backing tracks properly yet. So I was playing at full speed but not really getting the results. I'm feeling I'm making some progress in the bending department but still needs lots of work. smile.gif

laugh.gif laugh.gif That sentence gave me a nice, big laugh - thank you for that ! biggrin.gif

The take itself was pretty good though, I like your tone as well. You've got the hang of the pre bends too which was the aim of the game so I'm really pleased with your respectable offering !

Hopefully you'll be able to start adding these to your existing arsenal of guitar techniques smile.gif

Still haven't figured out how to get a tone I like out of that Boss floor unit.

Lots of things to work on in this task. Yeah, that last run was right on the edge of my speed ability.
Luckily I got a decent (?hopefully knee cap saving?) take early in the day before my fingers got too tired....

Yo Moss !! Always good to run into a new take from yourself wink.gif

This is really good stuff as usual. The only thing I would suggest to make those bends sound nicer is to release the notes in a more gradual, even way. It the moment it's like point A straight to point B with no in between, so it you can get that kind of 'drooping' effect (I can think of no other word than this..!! ) then that will be good biggrin.gif

Well done... knee caps safe !
