I have a trip today and I have the feeling of that I'm forgetting to bring something... so my question is...

What things you won't forget if you are going to do a 500 km trip?

The best way to do these things is to imagine the whole day, from waking up to going to bed. You also need to include any specific events, which in your case is playing a gig.

e.g. Wake up -> Alarm clock, breakfast related items, toothbrush/toothpaste, facewash, shaving stuff, clothing.
Travelling -> Music, spare batteries, phone charger, phone, earplugs, small pillow, snacks, book, water, etc.
Gig -> Spare guitar leads, spare batteries for pedals, pedalboard, rack effects, spare strings, spare guitar, guitar, picks, etc.

etc.

You get the idea smile.gif

PS Don't forget to do this 3x to triple check!

To me it's more about the length (days) of the trip than the distance. But anyway, these are my basics when I go onvacation:

Other than the obvious (clothes, etc.), my camera & psp, maybe a netbook. If it's a "cultural" trip a guide of the city, and if it's a "beach" trip solar protection and a hat! tongue.gif. Oh, and a AC/DC world adapter. You never know haha.

Well, because I'm on a trip as we speak smile.gif here's my pack:

- pedalboard (cables, pedals included)
- PRS Custom 24 axe
- Backpack: - wallet
- phone+charger
- 3 t-shirts/ one black shirt/ jeans/ wrist band/ underwear

That's about it smile.gif I'm having all the rest set at the hotel where I'm staying.

I HATE huge bags and all that, so I always, BUT always try to set things up so that I may get to travel as light as possible biggrin.gif

I guess if I were going off somewhere to get away, I would bring the following:

All needed clothes and accessories, laptop, guitar, other music guitar equipment (like my interface), camera and stuff that goes with it, books, Nintendo DS, etc.

I usually forget something vital like a charger or something.

If you bring a fresh pair of underwear and socks for everyday you're gone, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, you're half way there. Wear one set of clothes, and bring an extra pair of pants/shorts and a couple of t-shirts. This should all easily fit into a backpack like this. You will still have plenty of room to spare for a laptop, camera, a book or two to read, and some food to snack on. Just remember to roll up all your clothes to save space. And if you want to take an extra pair of shoes, put all your socks and underwear inside the shoes. Its all a matter of efficient packing biggrin.gif
