Nailed it. That's it exactly. This is a very tricky bit to play. It's an open string lick on adjacent strings. Right away this brings in the chance for a lot of string noise unless the palm mute is good. Your palm mute here is great. Also, there is enough gain/distortion on the signal to make any gaps in the mute stick out like a sort thumb. The good news is that you don't have any gaps so it's no problem. Also, traverse multi picking is just tricky. Traversing strings is hard enough, but now you've got an irregular pick strike pattern to go on top of it. So not only are you traversing, you have to keep track of how many times you are hitting each open and fretted note. In addition, the notes on the high E keep changing. Basically a very tricky lick that sounds pretty until one tries to play it. Well done!

Very good job on the improv Soldier!! I applaud your aggression and I like your tone choice!! Also it's all in key! I really liked the neoclassical bit towards the end. It's great to see you putting all of this to work! That's the point of all this DRILL work is to actually get better at playing a solo! I see improvements in you picking and your technique. nice!

As for the Mission, you skipped fret 5 it seems which is the last of note series of the 3 notes that change in the main lick. In quick licks, this would not be an issue, but this is BOOTCAMP!!! THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!

Once more in to the breach!!

Hi,

When I so this post I liked the lick and the Backing Track so much that I had to do it right now.

So here is my take.
Playing the Quick Lick at the beginning and then made an improvisation over it.

There are a few spots in my improvisation that I don't like (but overall I like my improvisation), I did it in less than an hour so I didn't practice so much on this one since I wanted to record it as fast as I saw it.
