I'm soo sorry to hear this
In my case,I don't practice each day cause I PLAY each day. But when I was at the early stage I used to PRACTICE 6-7 hours per day. And each time when I couldn't figure out the lick it gave the motivation to keep going. My advice is just to continue playing and practicing as much as possible. Of course there are times when everything goes wrong and slow... Just be hard worker and have patience!! -------------------- Youtube

Thanks to South Wales and Sarajevo (isn´t the internet amazing?!) So... I´m gonna remember your good and friendly advices, but first, I´m gonna pause for one or two days, only playing piano, hoping to get out of the cramped phase, I am in at the moment. Greetings from Berlin, Burkhard You're more than welcome and don't give up!! -------------------- Youtube

The more I practice the lessons, I have on my schedule, the less I can play them... That is so fatiguing... so dismotivating... Does anyone else out there has that feeling... What about your practice-schedules? Do you practice every day or, e.g., only each second day or what? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Same case here (and the worst part is ive been playing a bit over a year and i still cant shred).... Im gonna do my best to improve now -------------------- _____________________________________________________

IN "for the uninitiated, in means i joined this tread before it got deleted" Hahaha. I'm also IN then The more I practice the lessons, I have on my schedule, the less I can play them... That is so fatiguing... so dismotivating... Does anyone else out there has that feeling... What about your practice-schedules? Do you practice every day or, e.g., only each second day or what? Perhaps some pure and boring technique lessons would do good. Meaning running the same patterns up and down the neck for hours. If a lessons contains a technique you don't master perhaps that's what you get stuck on and the more you practice it incorrectly, the worse it gets. I like to practice and play all day, but the last two-three months have been crazy so I've had very little time for playing. -------------------- My bands homepage

btw, I read your comment on that thread yesterday, you were the only one who displayed working gray matter imho in that thread. Thanks! And I'm certain you could have done wonders there if you had brought yourself to posting. Whether it had been for better or for worse, only you know This post has been edited by MickeM: Oct 4 2007, 01:01 AM -------------------- My bands homepage

Hey hoppe!
I agree with Muris. Absolutely. Try to PLAY everyday. Also, play what you love (Lennon's songs, am I right?). Take care. -------------------- ::: Main Gear ::: Guitars: Washburn N4 Vintage | Washburn N2 | Washburn WI67Pro | Washburn WG-587 | Washburn EA20B Amps: Laney GH50L (head) | Laney GS410 & GS212IE (cabinets) | Rocktron PROGAP Ultra (rack preamp) | Rocktron Velocity 150 (power amp) | Marshall VS230 (combo) FXs: Rocktron Intellifex + custom pedalboard (check my video demo) Other: Shredneck | Intellitouch PT10 tuner Picks: Esseti Picks Software & Recording Gear: Cubase 4 | Overloud TH1 | Mackie Onyx 400F | EZdrummer | Korg Pandora PX4D ------------------------------------------------------- myspace.com/jerryarcidiacono Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

+1 !
I have often needed to go away on business and leave my guitar behind for several days. So not a planned layoff rather an enforced one. However, I often feel that once I pick the guitar up after a layoff, it is as David describes - you do benefit from an occasional rest. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
