I've been playing for 30 years.
Like others there have been a lot of years of just playing and noodling rather than learning and practicing, so I still have a long way to go. Some things however are just completely instinctive to me now. I've just had a rehearsal for a wedding and played a fingerstyle accompaniment with the singer to a song I'd never heard before without mistake, just by the melody she was singing leading me. -------------------- My SoundCloud

I remember my first little solo - it was a silly 3-4 note theme I came up with over a 3 chord progression in Am 
I find it uber funny, because I can still remember all these details. Thing is, I remember calling my mom to listen and she had a big smile when she sat in my room and I played for her - You have no clue how happy I was!
