Hi guys.

If i buy a synth, and connect it to "Midi In" and then use the usb to record in e.g Audaucity? Will it work like a extern sound-card or something?

Because i want the piano sounds, and also be able to play drums and bass. Then i could make my own songs irl, instead of programs ^^

Thank you for reading & hopefully helping xD smile.gif

What type of synth are you talking about? There are keyboards with built in audio interfaces, cheapest would be something like Behringer U-Control UMX49, but I recommend something a bit better like Novation XioSynth 49 if you can find it.
Good solution would be Line 6 POD Studio KB37 if you do not need a wide keyboard.

Not sure if I got you right Charlie
but I guess you wanna record/control some piano/drums/bass sounds
using your synth via Midi?
If that's the case then you need some VST instruments
running within a DAW like Reaper, Cubase etc.
Of course you can use sounds from synth itself,
in that case you should use audio outputs and not Midi.
