What type of synth are you talking about? There are keyboards with built in audio interfaces, cheapest would be something like Behringer U-Control UMX49, but I recommend something a bit better like Novation XioSynth 49 if you can find it.

Not sure if I got you right Charlie
but I guess you wanna record/control some piano/drums/bass sounds using your synth via Midi? If that's the case then you need some VST instruments running within a DAW like Reaper, Cubase etc. Of course you can use sounds from synth itself, in that case you should use audio outputs and not Midi. -------------------- Youtube
