I currently reside in Austin TX about 15 miles from Downtown out near Cedar Park (the suburbs). It's pretty cool here - lots of culture and such. Lots and Lots of music (most of which is just bad bar bands though). Austin is sometimes referred to as "The Live Music Capital of the World" though. And we have ACL and SXSW! w00t.
