I'm selling my Hot Rod Deville, the big brother to your Deluxe
I haven't played it since I bought the Axe Fx, but it was the clean tone that sold me on it, and still if it was practical to keep it I would. Peter Green actually used my amp at a concert when his blew up during soundcheck, I don't know if you deluxe is the same but they used the wrong type of potentiometer on the volume and so it goes through most of it's volume range between 0 and 2. -------------------- My SoundCloud

I don't know if you deluxe is the same but they used the wrong type of potentiometer on the volume and so it goes through most of it's volume range between 0 and 2. I didn't really notice that before. I hardly ever have a need to turn it up past 2. My deluxe III is about a year old and Fender has made some adjustments since the earlier models. It does jump up in volume between 1 and 2 rather quick. This really is the same characteristics of any tube amp I have owned. After that it seem more gradual. I've read that this is because the volume potentiometer is linear tapered instead of an audio tapered. An audio tapered pot (with the same K value) will apparently give you a more gradual increase in volume. Here is a site that has some good info. on Fender Hotrods. http://www.justinholton.com/hotrod/ -------------------- |
