Don't know if it's similar but my taste runs in periods. During the 80's I was a metal head and didn't listen to anything but 80's hard rock and heavy metal. That part of my taste will surely never go away, I love to listen to many of these bands - just not every day. Right now I'm in a blues and vintage rock period, stuff like Cream got me hooked. We played their songs for like 10 years in my band but it's only now (or the last couple years) I've started to pay attention to what it really is and actually how teriffic it is.
There's been a fair share of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin too, but not today. It's been quite a while since I listened to and enjoyed them. Lately, as I said, Cream and a few others like Robert Palmer, Foghat and such + progressive metal like DT and Sun Caged are favourites right now. Who knows, in a year from now I could be back with Led Zeppelin. Who knows? I think it's in parallell with what I'm developing in my own style. Take Cream for example, simple to play, but when you listen to the details and try to nail off of it there's another dimension to their music. That's what I'm anjoying, to listen to what they are actually doing and trying to find their technique. So my point being that I'm sure I will always enjoy the vintage rock, 80s metal and progressive rock. Only at different times in my life. I hope to pick up on Jazz and other styles in the future. There's so much great music out there, and a lot of crap too that I belive I'll never like. But finding out what's good for me today, at this moment. Than can be a task in it's own. -------------------- My bands homepage

Yeah i guess this has taken me by surprise a bit. It's definitaly become difficult listening to music nowadays. I want to explore other bands/artists but i'm a bit confused exactly what kind of music i really like so i'm not sure where to look. A while ago i did try neoclassical and other styles i hadn't really heard before i think now is the time to give it another shot i think. Oh and Slammer i'd see a doctor about those coughs mate Try another approach maybe, pick a guitarist that you like and take a stoll down his (for the most part a "he") career. -------------------- My bands homepage
